Sandpit, train, swings, and more!

Sarah Benson Park may be small, but it sure has all the best play equipment. It’s located in Thompson Station, TN, about 30 minutes south of Nashville. There is a train play structure, which has slides, monkey bars, and a tunnel, a variety of swings, including a tire swing, a rock-climbing wall, a balance beam, bouncy rockers, and a giant sandpit with a ton of trucks, diggers, and other sand toys. This was the real highlight for our family as my son spent hours in the sandpit, playing with the different toys. There are plenty of toys for kids to play with and share, and while you can bring your own, it’s a very communal play space. There is no shade, so while this was perfect on a chilly morning, it would be a warn spot in the summer months.

The playground is a part of the larger park, which includes a one-mile walking path, restrooms, a pavilion, and a large grassy field. There are hiking trails nearby as well, such as the Alexander Trail and preservation park.

The park is a popular spot for families and was crowded during peak play hours (10-12).
