An ideal place to burn energy and have fun when the weather isn't cooperating!

Scramble Alexandria offers several kid-friendly play areas for kids of all ages, with several separate toddler spaces, a reading nook for necessary quiet time and a giant structure to climb, spin, slide, and explore. The slide is so much fun for adults and kids alike, and four people can use it in a row.

If your children are still little, or it is their first visit, don't feel too guilty skipping a workout that day, because you will definitely have a chance to break a sweat if you really get into the fun.

They also have a soccer court ideal for pick up games with the big kids, a gift shop, and a café with a variety of food options, snacks, and coffee.

Mornings are great, and for preschoolers that are quick on their feet, we recommend early afternoon because many little ones are napping and the big kids are in school. Once the bigger kids begin to arrive, you really need to stay close to the little ones at certain places on the maze, such as the crossing area with the netted rope floor, because the big kids really move fast at those points and some have more awareness than others.

You'll find a mix of parents engaging and climbing with their kiddos and others catching up on email or enjoying a coffee depending on the time of day and of course, the age of their kiddos.

Scramble accepts party reservations and discounted packages for weekday parties, and also have Day Camp programs for holidays, summer, spring break, etc. Check their site for pricing and reservation details.

Moby Dick House of Kabob and Johnny's New York Style Pizza and Restaurant are less than ten minutes away in the Kingstowne Plaza area. If it's too busy or you need some quiet time before or after, stop by John Marshall Library which is also less than ten minutes from Scramble.

To balance the indoor time with some fresh air, head to Chessie's Big Backyard (and Our Special Harbor Spray Park), Ben Brenman Park or Jerome "Buddie" Ford Nature Center and Dora Kelly Nature Park depending on what direction you're going in, they are all closeby.
