For a great cup of joe, located close to all that Minneapolis has to offer, be sure to make a stop at Sisters' Sludge Coffee.

This shop is founded by a set of identical triplet sisters, Katie, Maggie, and Judy....yep, you read that right...identical triplets. Not only do they share the same genes, but they all share a love of great coffee, as well. This coffee shop came to be, as their version of that feeling you get in a great Italian bistro, French cafe, or an English Pub. It's meant to be a place you'd like to get cozy in and spend a bit of your day enjoying a fresh sip of something special.

Sisters' Sludge is located close to all the many wonderful parks, playgrounds, and historical locations Minneapolis has to offer, in a hip neighborhood. Parking isn't bad, as you're well outside of downtown here in South Minneapolis. Compared to other coffee shops in the area, the prices here are really reasonable, which is a nice bonus.

The kids were excited to stop here. Though it's a far cry from downtown, they still knew we were in "the big city" and, frankly, that's exciting for them. There were more cars, more people on the street, and just more hustle and bustle than they're used to. They were also enchanted by the street art on the side of the building, as that's just not something they usually see in the 'burbs.

I really enjoyed the coffee here and could tell it was a quality cup. I love coffee, so I can tell by the first sip if it's great coffee. Tired moms around the world rejoice at that first sip of a really great coffee. We also enjoyed the treats here at Sisters' Sludge, and their offerings included traditional chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, coffee cake, and some yummy-looking espresso cookies. Everything we ordered tasted great and the prices were right, too.

After picking up a few things here, head over to nearby Lyndale Farmstead Park, which has wonderful sledding and ice skating in winter, a playground, and is also home to the National Register of Historic Place's Theodore Wirth Home.
