Ski Hill trails are located in the heart of the Cascade Mountains, just two short miles from downtown. There is plenty of room for parking and there are kid friendly trails and maps that lead all over the forest. This space is mostly flat so feel free to bring a stroller with sturdy wheels. There are over 20 miles of trails just five minutes out of town so you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Trails are dog friendly, your furry friends must remain on leash. During the spring, summer and fall months Ski Hill trail systems are used for nature walking, trail running and biking, just let your kids know you are sharing the trail. The best way to know the trails is to read the map before you start, take a photo with your phone and maybe even use the All Trails app for tracking. In the spring after snow melt there is a beautiful bloom of native Washington state wild flowers, please dont pick them! You can find eduactional signs scattered around the lower levels of trails to identify flowers and creatures from the area. There are events held here at certain times throughout the season, for example the Bavarian Bike and Juice and the Oktoberfest Trail Run. Be sure to check the website to be sure you are not running into an event that may prohibit your visit! This trail features a historic Ski Hill Lodge, iconic functioning ski lift swing and the current Leavenworth Summer theatre. This space is one of me and my kids favorite spots, we usually stay on the lower trails to stay clear of the down hill mountain bikers, but as long as you stay aware and educate kids on trail safety, it will be a great day hike! Walking not permitted in the winter season when trails transform to a nordic track.

Chelsea is an adventure-seeking mama of two girls that loves to get outside! Her and her family live in a small Bavarian tourist town embedded in the middle of the Cascade Mountains! She loves to parent outside and find new fun things to do around her area. Their most favorite thing to do as a family is hike and camp, but they snowboard as well! Chelsea stays at home with her girls during the school week and juggles a few jobs in her downtime. Some of these things include writing, event planning, pouring wine and trail running! There are so many things to do in her town and surrounding areas, she is so excited to get to share them with you here!
