Sonoran Hills is a great space to get the family outdoors and moving.
Located in Scottsdale, just north of Phoenix, Sonoran Hills Park is a 10-acre space featuring a playground, baseball field, tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic area, drop-in ramadas, exercise course, and restrooms. The playground area features two play structures, a fitness area, a swing set, and picnic areas. The first playground, geared toward elementary age, has several slides, steps, climbing, fireman's pole, and interactive play stations. The second play structure, geared toward preschool age, has a slide, steps, climbing, fireman's pole, and interactive play stations. Both areas have a large covered awning to cover the playground, and it is filled in with sand. The awnings are perfect for those hot summer days. Don't forget the sand toys to play with too. The swing set and fitness area, however, do not have any covering, so it can get quite hot.
There is a large open field to play and run. Bring sports equipment, frisbees, and other toys to play in this space. Around the green space, there is a paved sidewalk perfect for riding scooters, bikes, or pushing a stroller. The basketball courts are located next to the playground area as well. There is hardly any shade, but there are a few trees and picnic space to cool off under. There is one tennis court near the playground and two other tennis courts located on the opposite side of the playground area. You can walk from there, or there is a small parking lot next to them.
Sonoran Hills Park is a great space to get outside and play. Perfect place for the surrounding neighborhoods and visitors alike. Check it out for your next family outing.
