South Beach Park and Sunshine Playground

South Beach Park has it all, including an adventurous playground, splash pad and skate park!

South Beach Park is a large park in Jacksonville Beach. It’s home to Sunshine Playground, a skate park, a seasonal splash pad, fitness trail, basketball court, turf field, tennis court, sand volleyball courts, and restroom. The playground is made up of wooden play structures and has endless places for kids to explore. It has a very adventure-themed feel with a variety of equipment. In the area for smaller kids, there is a train shaped play structure, bridge, baby swings, sandbox, and plenty of slides. In the larger kids area, the play structure feels like a giant maze, with multiple places to climb, slide, and run. There are monkey bars, balance beams, a wooden boat, a lighthouse, and more.  

The skatepark is another fun spot for kids but can get busy. It has a lot of smaller ramps and areas for beginning to skate, blade, and scooter, as well as larger bowls, steps, and ramps. On weekdays, it’s extra busy after school hours and weekends is fairly crowded as well.
