Stead Park boasts two playgrounds, an open, astroturf field, a smaller, playground-adjacent astroturf area, a splash park, and a recreation center. One side of this well-loved, busy playground is geared towards children under five, while the other is more appropriate for older children. Both are enclosed and the two are separated by a gate, making it an easy playground to keep an eye on two kids of different ages. The little kids' side has some seesaws, slides, and swings. The big kids' side has a large play structure for climbing and sliding and a disc swing. The splash park is basic, but fun on a hot day, and there's plenty of space to run around on the astroturf. There are bathroom facilities in the recreation center, which also has a multi-purpose room and a computer lab. The Friends of Stead Park often host programming and activities, such as yoga for kids and families in the spring, so check the website for special offerings.
