Take in the Lovely Turquoise Waterfall: Stinging Fork Falls!

Stinging Fork Falls is a beautiful, 30-foot fan-shaped waterfall with a turquoise pool and a rocky, clear creek below it.  Hiking to it is relatively easy until the last bit in, where the trail descends very quickly and there are several stairs and slippery, muddy rocks.  When we went in January, there were a few fallen trees, which we had to carefully go around or under.

Though there is a defined trail, it is marked by white hashes but we got mixed up a couple of times so watch carefully for those markers.

We were there during winter and during snow and there was no one else on the trail, that said, there is ample free parking. Dogs on leashes are welcome, as is fishing, but hunting or camping are not permitted in the area around the falls.

Directions: Stinging Fork Falls is located west of Spring City. Access to the natural area is via Highway 68. In Spring City turn onto Shut-In Gap Road and proceed five miles to the parking area on the right.
