Explore the beauty of this pristine place in nature.
String Lake is probably the most popular place to swim and have fun in all of Grand Teton National Park with its astonishing, breathtaking views. You kids will appreciate that the water isn't unbearably cold, and it’s often loaded with swimmers and rock jumpers of all ages.
Bring tubes and float in the sunshine or bring a paddle craft and adventure around the pristine lake. The further you get towards Leigh Lake, the fewer people you’ll see. You can even follow the signs for the portage and carry your crafts into Leigh Lake itself to paddle. There you will find moments of solitude only minutes from the parking lot.
*If you plan on hiking don’t forget bear spray!
