If you'd enjoy an authentic Scandinavian cafe with delicious food and a family-oriented vibe, this place is for you!

I'm so glad we found this adorable Scandinavian bakery & cafe! The girls and I all loved this place and thought it was a super fun stop. I love that they have real, authentic Scandinavian bakery and other food items here. So often a name just seems like a name, but this place is the real deal. Their recipes are all handmade, fresh and made from scratch daily. Speaking of Scandinavian, they have handmade Lefse, if you've never tried it before, or if it's a favorite of yours. You may even find pickled herring for sale here!

Though this cafe serves all three meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, they get huge bonus points in my book for serving all-day breakfast. We love breakfast food in our family, and we all agree it's great fuel for active adventures, so an all-day breakfast is always a bonus here.

The bakery offerings were all wonderful. In addition to trying a few special treats, we were super excited to see Taste of Scandinavia offer the most adorable (and affordable) Valentine's cookie decorating kit. While such kits often cost $20 or more, this kit was under $10 and included 10 large pre-cooked heart-shaped cookies, 4 different colors of icing, and 4 different beautiful sprinkles to choose from. We had a blast decorating our 'mommy and me' cookies! What a deal this was!

Overall, we loved the food, and also found the service to be really wonderful and family-oriented here. We would definitely return to Taste of Scandinavia for another fun family day together.

After enjoying a bite to eat here, head over to nearby Normandale Lake Loop for a nice little walk or bike around this scenic lake.
