Setting up camp on the beachfront near the Hotel del Coronado is a great option.

This beach area, recognized as Coronado Central Beach, is regarded as one of the best beaches in the U.S. according to some sources! It is nice and wide, which means you can enjoy the sandy strip while also splashing in the waves. One of the other best things about this beach is the tide pools that form right in front of the hotel during winter low tides — perfect for the youngest beach goers! If you have early risers, try to venture out to the beach in the morning and search for seashells and sand dollars. For a little sandcastle inspiration, you can check out The Sandcastle Man (who is often seen sculpting in front of the Hotel).

Street parking can be busy so plan to bring your patience and a stroller or wagon to haul your gear too! There is an option to pay the self-park or valet park at the Hotel.

This stretch of public beach in Coronado is just under 2 miles long and the boardwalk that runs along it is best enjoyed for walking or running, which is a great way to mix things up and get moving in between sand castles, Frisbee, and splashing.

There's an ice cream place and taco shack that is part of the Hotel del Coronado, which are good options for a quick snack (but a bit on the expensive side). It could be worth planning ahead and bringing a picnic from home or a to-go option from Clayton’s to maximize your beach relaxation and playtime.

There are restrooms located near the lifeguard stand, about 500 yards from the Hotel del Coronado.  They are rustic, so bring wipes and hand sanitizer!
