Carlyle is part of the local restaurant group, Great American Restaurant, and a genuine crowd-pleaser.

The Carlyle is a fun restaurant for weekend brunch, weekday lunch or dinner on any night. They offer delicious options beginning with the classic sweet rolls and fresh-baked bread of all varieties. Like all of the great American restaurant group locations, the atmosphere is inviting yet sophisticated. You’re always greeted with a smile and authentically positive service.

Similar to some of its sister locations, like Silverado, The Carlyle has Etch-A-Sketches available for the kids which I think is just such a unique and thoughtful touch. They also cater to children in a fun way by bringing them actual glasses for their beverages, which are capped with a perfectly sized to-go coffee cup style top to make them more kiddo friendly.

Despite the size of the restaurant, the ambiance is cozy, yet you don't feel like you are on top of your neighboring tables. They have outdoor seating available, which provides great people watching as it is on the corner of Shirlington's bustling business center.

If you’re looking for great food without a sit-down meal, head to the neighboring best buns for the most incredible breakfast sandwiches (we love the icebox bread options), pasta salads, sandwiches, fresh bread, and sweet treats. On Saturday mornings, they open up part of Carlyle for seating for your grab-and-go breakfast too.

The restaurant is just at the other end of the street from the AMC Shirlington, and while there is limited street parking there is a free parking lot at the end of the road (across from the movie theater) and also a parking garage right there as well.
