A trip out to The Farmyard is well worth the time in the car!!

The Farmyard is one of the Maryland/Pennsylvania Line’s best kept - and most affordable - secrets! Open noon to eight daily in Parkton, MD, families can enjoy free entry to meet the farm animals, which include a donkey, miniature horse, ponies, chickens, goats, KuneKune pig, a lamb, rabbits, and more! The owner and staff are amazingly friendly - in fact, the owner makes it her personal mission to learn every child’s name!  Cornhole, a small playground, and picnic area (grab takeout from Chick-Fil-A about 5 miles north, or try local favorite The Fill’ Er-Up just a mile down the road) make for a fun, well-rounded experience for any child from an infant to elementary schooler. In the summer, enjoy a sweet snowball from their on-premises snowball stand, The Farmyard Freeze. 

The Farmyard hosts fun and educational events for a modest fee, such as “Stories & Snowballs”, “Paint Night at the Farm”, “Pony Grooming” and more. The farm is stroller-friendly, and we do not find it difficult to maintain physical distance between other patrons, as it is not crowded. As this is an authentic farm, porta-potties are the bathroom option. Handwashing stations are available. The farm is small enough that you could either carry or stroll with your non-walker. Parking is extremely easy, just a few feet from the snowball stand and animals!
