Enjoy Fish and Chips with a Lake View on the North Shore at Fisherman's Daughter.
Families visiting the North Shore will devour food at The Fisherman's Daughter at Dockside Fish Market. Fish is caught fresh from the lake, giving families a charming dock to fork experience right in Grand Marais.
The menu includes a variety of fresh options, including lightly-breaded fish and chips, fish tacos, fishcakes, and other scrumptious options. The type of fish used changes depending on the day's catch. Appetizers like cheese curds and crab fries are also available. Kids can munch on options like chicken and chips or a turkey and cheddar sandwich. After lunch, grab an ice cream sandwich from the cooler for a sweet treat.
Seating is available in front of the restaurant, as well as on a deck in the back. For a lake view, dine on the back deck. Alternatively, take lunch to go and eat down by the water. Those with strollers should plan to sit in front of the restaurant, which offers more space to set up.
The Fisherman's Daughter at Dockside Fish Market also has a medium-sized indoor market, including souvenirs or to-go food items and drinks. Fresh fish can also be purchased to cook at home. Souvenirs include items like clothing, cookbooks, and local foods.
There is a portable toilet on-site. There is no changing table or high-chair availability here. Street parking is widely available. You can also park in town and take the short lake walk to the restaurant. Afterward, head to the harbor to throw rocks into Lake Superior (a favorite, family-friendly pastime!).
