Enjoy these kid-friendly trails in a beautiful park!

Timberland Park is a beautiful park right off the Natchez Trace Parkway at mile marker 437. It’s a small park, with hiking trails, a butterfly garden, an overlook, picnic tables, and an interpretive center. There are lots of trail options, including an ADA accessible trail, which leads to the small overlook. This is a great spot to enjoy a picnic and bring the whole family.

The trails are well-kept and kid-friendly. We enjoyed walking the Judy Hayes Trail, which turned into a loop using the West Perimeter trail. This loop was around .75 miles total and while there was a small incline, it was manageable for a 3-year-old. There are additional trails to make for a longer loop.

The park hours vary by season, so be sure to check the website for the most up to date park details. Restrooms and parking are available on site. Extend your visit by stopping by the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge, enjoying a meal at Loveless Café, or driving down to Leipers Fork.
