Jerusalem Mill Historic Village

Jerusalem Mill is definitely a hidden gem for history lovers. This section of Gunpowder Falls State Park features historic buildings ranging in date from 1772 to 1930. The village is staffed on Saturdays and Sundays with volunteers that demonstrate the daily tasks and jobs of the people who lived in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Robinson Nature Center

Robinson Nature Center is easily one of the best nature centers in the Baltimore region. The outdoor facilities are matched only by the expansive and unique indoor exhibits. Families can learn about life in the forest, how our actions impact the Chesapeake Bay and take a look at deep space.

Rawlings Conservatory

The Rawlings Conservatory is another hidden gem in the city that is sure to please. The conservatory features 5 different greenhouses that highlight various climates including desert, Mediterranean, and tropical. It’s the perfect spot to visit if you’re in the mood to connect with nature!

B&O Railroad Museum

You may think that the B&O Museum is only good for the most diehard train fans, but you’ll quickly find yourself sucked in by the beautiful layout and fascinating information that the museum provides. Both the adults and the children in our group had a blast getting up-close with the trains on display and learning the interesting history of the B&O railroad!

HomeSlyce Pizza Bar

HomeSlyce Pizza Bar will please even the pickiest eaters in the crowd with their delicious and unique boat-shaped pizza. While the food is delicious, our favorite part of visiting may be the chance to play a few rounds of skeeball and darts after our meal!

Angel Park

Angel Park is one of the biggest, and coolest, playgrounds in the Baltimore area. Originally designed to accommodate the needs of all children, the park features all sorts of cool equipment that you’ve never seen before. Kids can zip line, ride a huge saucer swing and climb up a fairy tale tower!

Katie Raspa
Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
