Kids and adults alike look forward to a bite to eat or a smoothie at this delicious spot!

The smoothies are delicious at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, obviously. They offer classic smoothies, as well as those packed with superfoods for an added healthy boost. There are a variety of supplements to add to your smoothie, which have different health benefits, and a great selection of kids smoothie options as well. Their menu is diverse, but they are also flexible and you are welcome to make substitutions. I love the Orange Ginger Glow with mango, fresh ginger, green apple, pineapple, carrot and orange juice, while my little ones love the Lil' Limeberry with strawberries and lime, and the Jetty Junior with strawberries and banana.

What you may not realize is that the food menu is also delicious. It is not huge but has something for everyone. They have flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, and sandwiches as well as healthy bowls and a kids' menu. They add special items fairly often, but the classic Chicken Caprese Pressed Sandwich is my go-to.

Their side options include fresh fruit, a variety of chips, and also a kale and apple slaw.

Langdon Park, Playground and Recreation Center (with a great DC Public pool and spray area) is less than ten minutes away. Additionally, Kenilworth GardensKingman & Heritage Islands, and The Fields at RFK Playground are also less than ten minutes by car in the other.

In less than five minutes you can get to the National Arboretum. Check out the National Arboretum 3-Mile Loop if you need some exercise and if shopping is on your agenda, Costco is just two minutes away in the shopping center.
