Kids and adults alike look forward to a bite to eat or a smoothie at this delicious spot in Arlington's Virginia Square!

The smoothies are delicious at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, obviously. They offer classic smoothies, as well as those packed with superfoods for an added healthy boost. There are a variety of supplements to add to your smoothie, which have different health benefits, and a great selection of kids' smoothie options as well. Their menu is diverse, but they are also flexible and you are welcome to make substitutions. I love the Orange Ginger Glow with mango, fresh ginger, green apple, pineapple, carrot and orange juice, as well as the Detox Island Green when I'm looking for something that packs a nutritional punch. The Bahama Mama and Kiwi Quencher are both amazing as well. My little ones love the Lil' Limeberry with strawberries and lime, and the Jetty Junior with strawberries and banana.

What you may not realize is that the food menu is also delicious. The menu is not huge but it has an excellent variety with something for everyone. They have flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, and sandwiches as well as healthy bowls and a kids' menu. They add special items fairly often, but the classic Chicken Caprese Pressed Sandwich is my go-to.

Their side options include fresh fruit, a variety of chips, and also a kale and apple slaw.

They do get busy at times, so I like to take advantage of their curbside pickup option, especially useful with little ones.

Quincy Park and Playground is just a short walk, as is Arlington Central Library. Hayes Playground and Sprayground is just a bit further, but a manageable distance. In the other direction, you will find Ballston Quarter and all its shops and attractions, including The Nook Ballston. The Virginia Square metro is just 0.2 miles away.

The closest metro is Virginia Square- GMU.
