Ready for a full day of fun family adventures? This is your place!
An outdoor enthusiast’s dream, the U.S. National Whitewater Center has an array of outdoor adventures. There is whitewater rafting, kayaking, paddleboarding, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, deep water solo climbing, ropes course, and zip lines. There is a little something for everyone. Parking is $6 a car, so if you plan to come more than a handful of times, get the yearly pass. Biking (if you bring your own) and hiking are free plus a small ropes course for the young kids to climb. There are over 26 miles of trail to hike and bike on. These trails are not stroller-friendly, but the paved trail around the Whitewater Center is great for strollers.
There are various festivals throughout the year with a favorite being Tuckfest, where many local vendors come out to display the latest in outdoor gear and adventures. Plus, they have some really great deals. There is also the Build Your Own Boat contest, which has everyone coming out to watch teams compete to complete the whitewater course in their homemade boats. Teams get really creative, and the crowd gets wild cheering them on. It’s a wildly good time.
During the summer, the Whitewater Center has family-friendly concerts every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday called River Jam. They also have a race series to challenge your running skills every Thursday running the trails, plus yoga every Thursday through Friday. In the summer, this is the place to be.
They also have seminars, summer camps, team development, instruction and certifications, and field trips available for businesses and individuals. These are a great way to have a fun team-building experience in a unique way.
They have a restaurant on-site plus a marketplace for grab-and-go food and an outdoor bar and food area. Local beers and ciders are served on tap at several bars.
The Whitewater Center is a family favorite and a fun-filled time. Whether you come to play or come to kick back and relax, this place is the best.
