This adorable small-town park has all the makings of a lovely day together.

Located in the beautiful suburb of Victoria, Lions Park is a great place for families to stop and play at. This park has lots of grassy areas surrounding a nicely appointed playground. Since there's so much free space here, I highly recommend bringing a soccer ball, sticky mitts and tennis balls, or baseball mitt and glove to this park. In the summertime, I keep a ball bag in the trunk of my car, so if we come upon a really nice, open grassy area, the kids can choose to play a ball game, as well. Besides playing catch at this sort of park, we also like to bring a small tee ball set, though this decidedly takes up more space in the trunk.

This playground offers several swings, which definitely reduces the arguing over who gets to swing when. There's a small teeter-totter for littles, which our kids always love. There are, of course, fun slides, stairs, and other little play items. One of the cool features of this park that the girls loved are the little kid-sized benches located on the top floor of the play structure. They always love these "surprise" or tucked-away elements, and I think the fact that they're kid-sized makes them feel super special to the girls. When they saw the little seating area, they immediately wanted to have their snack in the 'secret house.' It was cute to see them so excited. They also loved the rope ladder that went straight up into the play structure. Again, you don't see this at every playground, so it felt like a secret opening to the girls.

We really enjoyed this park and will definitely return in the warmer months. After enjoying some play here, drive just down the street to the lovely Ruby's Roast for a delicious cup of coffee, and a tasty treat.
