The 3 mile long, Virginia Beach Boardwalk, is one of the city’s favorite places!

There is plenty to do and see at this 28-foot wide boardwalk that hosts festivals, museums, playgrounds, restaurants and more. There are several entrances, but we recommend parking around 17th Street so you can access the boardwalk there, and utilize being right in the middle of things! There is also a parking lot in-between 17th and 19th street where you can leave your car, and restrooms are right off of the 17th entrance and 31st entrance. The boardwalk stretches from 2nd to 40th street, and there are beach access routes on 31st, 21st, 19th, 17th, and 9th street.

There are biking paths separate from all of the action, so you can bike, jog, or rollerblade without worrying about dodging pedestrians. This is a super popular activity to use the boardwalk for, and kids will love biking or blading through the palm tree-lined path! You can take breaks at one (or all) of the three playgrounds or stop by one of the many restaurants or snack shacks. Another nice addition, are all of the benches that line the boardwalk. They are perfect to have a quick snack or to sit and enjoy the ocean views. There are several spots to rent bikes along the boardwalk, so no need to stress about bringing a bike if you don't have one. You can ride the entire 3-mile stretch, or just go from spot to spot, the choice is yours! For added fun, scan the QR codes that appear along the path for a self-guided tour and see if you can spot all of the beautiful sculptures and monuments.

She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee before attending the University of Arkansas to pursue a degree in advertising and public relations with a minor in marketing logistics. Natalie attributes her love of the outdoors to her parents always encouraging her to have a deep appreciation for nature and all that the world has to offer. As a family, they spent many years growing up going on camping trips, skiing, rafting, and traveling together. While Natalie loves the seasonal lifestyle in Jackson, she was ready to become a part of something bigger and challenge herself. She found Happy Active Family at the perfect time, upon meeting Caitlin and Thomas, and strives to help other families spend meaningful time together, just as she has been able to with her own.
