Waterfront Park is a lovely 8 acres, nestled close to all the action in downtown Charleston. It's located between Vendue Range to the north and Adger's Wharf to the south, and it's packed with views and greenery and, if you get lucky, views of maritime traffic and sailboats to entertain your kids while they run around. The pier is a short walk out past the grassy marsh area and provides lovely views of the bridge. There are also several porch swings (big enough for the whole family) and picnic tables if you've brought a snack. My family walked south of the main pier and walked past two big fountains that headline the open lawn and palmetto trees. The most photographic fountain was the Pineapple one which my kids had fun splashing around in :)
