The Waynesville Kiwanis Community Playground is a large playground located 1 mile from downtown Waynesville. It consists of many different sections for varying ages. The large wooden "castle" section is great for older kids with plenty of areas to climb and hide, and it also contains a toddler area with smaller play structures and a miniature Waynesville! There are bucket swings, regular swings, and handicap accessible swings scattered throughout making sure there is something for kids of every age and ability. On the other side of the covered picnic pavilion you'll find what we like to call the modern play area. A large metal rock wall rises out of the middle and 2 zip-lines extend the length of it. There is also a 4 person see-saw, 3 slides on a rubber hill (one being a roller slide), a merry-go-round spinner, musical instruments, and more swings fill in this area. Across the large parking area you'll find a basketball court and multiple tennis courts, and the back half is a large open field with a baseball diamond and soccer goals. There is truly something for everyone!

There are portable toilets (in a trailer in the parking lot) which have always been clean every time we have gone, and functioning water fountains. This is a great park to hit up if you're in the area, and close enough to downtown to run over before a dinner reservation to let some energy out!
