Wintergreen Resort isn't just for skiing! This Virginia spot has plenty to offer in the Spring and Summer for all ages.
Discovery Ridge Adventure Center within Wintergreen Resort is your one-stop shop for all different kinds of indoor and outdoor activities that can keep you entertained for days. The Adventure Center has active indoor games like a Ninja Warrior Obstacle course, gem mining, a wall for bouldering, and arcade games such as air hockey, pool tables, and even wiis. The outdoor activities include bungee trampolining, scaling the climbing tower, and playing miniature golf.
The Zip is another super popular activity at Wintergreen, and for good reason! Get a thrill ziplining down 900 feet up to 40 miles an hour! You must be at least 8 years old and 75 pounds to partake.
Summer tubing is another great way to get a thrill. Appropriately named "The Plunge", this tubing experience is compared to being on top of a ten-story building and going downhill for longer than three football fields at speeds up to 30 mph. This winter favorite may even be better in the summer! Tubing is recommended for ages 6 and up. There is a statement that riders agree to acknowledge the risks in tubing on their ticket when purchased.
Ridgely's Fun Park offers lawn games, campfires, s'mores, and outdoor movies that are great for younger kids to play and have fun.
If you are eager to get into some water, look no further. The Aquatics and Fitness Center has an indoor pool open year-round and an outdoor pool that opens for the season on Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. You can also go into the valley and swim in Lake Monocan or relax on their sandy beach.
Of course, hiking is a great and active option for warm weather fun! The resort has 30 miles of hiking for all different skill levels. There are hiking guides available for $3 at the Adventure Center or Front Desk.
Fly fishing is also available on the Shenandoah, James, and Jackson Rivers all around the resort. You can book a guide or go on your own for a fun family outing!
