An outdoor adventure in Ashville with local animals of all kinds!

The WNC Nature Center is Asheville’s only zoo. Covering 42 acres, it focuses mainly on local animals that could be found in Western North Carolina and the surrounding areas. Animals you can see at the Nature Center include Bears, Deer, Wolves, Cougars, Bobcats, Otters, Foxes, Raccoons, many reptiles, birds of prey, and the newly added Red Pandas! There is also a petting area with goats, donkeys, sheep, and chickens. Scattered throughout the park are many play areas and interactive exhibits that are perfect to break up your walkthrough!

All of the walkways are paved making it easy to bring in strollers and wagons, and there are multiple shaded picnic tables on the property (they allow outside food and drink!). Bathroom facilities are clean and located in multiple locations and all have water fountains and water bottle filling stations.
