Wyman Park Dell in Baltimore is a great option for families with toddlers!
You’ll almost forget that you’re in the middle of a bustling city block when you’re in Wyman Park Dell. The park is comprised of 16 acres nestled between Charles Village and Remington. The lower lawn provides space for kicking a ball or simply relaxing in the sun.
Visitors can use the paved path that surrounds the lawn for walking or running (with or without a stroller). The path is a single loop that’s approximately half a mile in length so the scenery is fairly static, but it’s a flat surface and great for those that are looking to squeeze in an easy workout.
If you follow the stairs or path up towards Charles Street, you can find a very small playground that is intended for children ages 2-5. The ground is a solid rubber surface and there is equipment for climbing and swinging. It’s a great option for little ones that have waited patiently in the stroller while their parent squeezed in a quick run.
Next to the playground, there's an outdoor ping pong table. You’ll find paddles and balls in a small wooden box next to the play equipment. You’ll also find a Little Free Library where you can grab a book to read in the sun.
There are no bathrooms at Wyman Park Dell, but free parking can be found on 29th Street and metered parking on Charles Street and Art Museum Drive. Most entrances to the lower lawn require you to walk down stairs, but a ramped entrance can be found at Charles Street and 30th.
While you’re in the neighborhood, you can check out the Baltimore Museum of Art which is just across Art Museum Drive. If you’re hungry, Paper Moon Cafe and R.House both provide family-friendly food options. Both are an easy walk, just two blocks west on 29th Street.
