Yesterdog is a vintage hot dog joint that is an iconic local favorite.

Yesterdog is an old-fashioned straightforward hot dog restaurant that is a classic piece of Grand Rapids History. The menu is very straightforward, very small, and very cheap, be aware it is CASH ONLY. If you like hotdogs, then this is the perfect place for you, if not then probably best to stay away. There are 5 types of hotdogs here, the Yesterdog (chili, onion, mustard, pickle, ketchup), the Ultradog (Yesterdog with cheese), the Cheddardog (chili and cheese), the Veggiedog (cheese, sauerkraut, onion, pickle, ketchup, mustard), the Krautdog (kraut, pickle, mustard), and the Killerdog (chili, cheese, kraut, onion, pickle, ketchup, mustard). The veggiedog is one of the only food options here for vegetarians. All of the dogs here are between $2.80 and $3.10. If you want something on the side, they have bagged chips, cheeze kurls, and a whole dill pickle available for purchase. For drinks, you can get soda pop, iced tea, coffee, cold cider, lemonade, milk, and hot chocolate.

You order your food at the front counter and then either choose to take your food to go or eat at one of the tables in the back. They have a bar along the front wall with seating, 2-4 person tables in the middle section, and larger booths in the pack for bigger groups. The walls are jampacked with vintage posters and signs, giving this place a very nostalgic feel. You can also order food outside through the front window if you don’t want to go in, but I’m not sure if this was just for Covid or a permanent addition. For parking, there is paid street parking as well as a parking lot across the street. Yesterdog is located in a small outdoor strip mall so the parking lot can get full, but there are more parking lots located around other stores nearby. There is a restroom located in the front room of Yesterdog.
