A Beach Day dog-friendly adventure with the whole family - outdoor fun for all ages!

Located in Historic Yorktown, this beautiful 2-acre beachfront is the perfect day trip just over an hour outside of Richmond, VA. Enjoy boating, swimming, and fishing as well as some local shops, restaurants, and treats on your trip. Whether it's a busy weekend or a quiet, quaint weekday, bring your own toys to play in the sand or venture to the nice park area with grills and restrooms. There are a few shops along Riverwalk as well as restaurants and an ice cream shop. 

Yorktown Beach is quite welcoming with free access to street and garage parking, grills, restrooms, changing area, and an outdoor shower. Restrooms are in the parking area along with a changing area and outdoor shower to freshen up after a long day of sand and water play. Welcome to families with kids and babies, all sized dogs, elderly, and handicapped persons, you'll find new equipment for the enjoyment of those of all abilities. The Handicap ramp includes a new Mobi-Mat to accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers for everyone to enjoy the beach and beautiful water. Be sure to ask about the Mobi-Chair available for disabled guests who desire to physically get into the water. It's free to rent from 10 am-6 pm, in two-hour increments. A state-issued photo ID is required along with one escort to accompany each handicapped/special needs individual. 

After wading in the water and sifting through the sand, don't forget to get into the grassy area beside the pier! Stretching across 10 acres, it is just the place for a picnic, snack, or a quiet getaway with your favorite book and/or people. Permits are available for company outings or large family gatherings as well.
