Already a  park and playground with a view, Agawam also has a memorial which adds a sense of majesty that really sets it apart.

Located in the heart of Southampton, Agawam Park is easy to access and hard to miss.  A large monument encompasses the back end of the park and is dedicated to World War II and Korean War veterans.  In front of the monument a large, well-manicured lawn is made available for children to run free and picnickers to enjoy.  There is also a very modern playground that has different jungle gyms that cater to a range of different ages. There are several play structures with different slide sizes. There are also swings for big kids as well as babies.

Agawam Park overlooks Agawam Lake where you and your family can see wildlife such as ducks and swans.  The last time I visited, the ducks were very animated - they were probably hoping to be fed, but we didn't have anything appropriate. It's a great park for a picnic, however, so maybe next time!

In the summer, the park has concerts on the lawn on Wednesday evenings which allows for adults to unwind while children enjoy the previously mentioned playground.

There is two-hour parking available in the parking lot next to the park as well as street parking on Jobs Lane.  The park has restrooms, which are equipped with changing tables!  Make sure you do pack snacks and/or sandwiches before leaving for the park.  There are picnic tables within the park and water fountains available.

**The park does lie directly on Agawam Lake so I find it does get windy.  I would encourage bringing layers in case you or your family get chilly!
