Anne Garney Park is a delightful little park and playground in the Kansas City north metro.

We really enjoyed this playground. It wasn't the biggest play area we visited in Kansas City, nor was it the most elaborate, but it was somehow just right. The equipment it did feature was all newer-style playground equipment, including a "tree" as the girls call it. This item is shaped like a triangle, like a tree, and it spins. It has lots of ropes crossing it on the outer sides, and room inside for the kids to jump on it and play while it's spinning. There's also the opportunity to climb up, as well. The park also featured a huge rope-outlined climbing apparatus, and the girls LOVED this feature, too. In addition, there was a fake rock to climb, peppered with hand and foot holds. But, the item that set this playground apart was a super awesome, super long swinging rope bridge. The bridge lead from one small structure, to the huge rope climbing apparatus, and this was the very first playground where we saw anything like this. It was so cool! Mommy actually loved the rope bridge, and so did the kids!

We did not see restrooms at this playground, though, again, being wintertime, it's possible and probable they bring in Porto-Potties in the Spring. Parking was ample, and included a sufficient lot on-site. The playground itself is located outside of town, so it's a very peaceful, quiet setting. I thought this was a great playground for families to enjoy when visiting the Kansas City area. For some delicious eats after playing here, check out nearby Conrad's Restaurant and Alehouse.
