Educational center featuring live birds of prey, flight shows, indoor exhibits, and outdoor trails.
Located on 57 acres in the Latta Preserve, the Carolina Raptor Center is home to 37 different species of birds. Along with being an educational base, the Raptor Center rescues and treats 1,000 birds annually and releases 70% of those birds back to the wild. They have school trips, summer camps, and homeschool days. You can even purchase owl pellets. Online you can watch the nest of the eagles and owls during their nesting seasons.
This place is perfect for all ages and very shaded for warm summer days. There are picnic tables in the center, or you can take your lunch to the end of the nature preserve by the lake.
The Carolina Raptor Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit origination, and donations are always welcomed and go to supporting the rescue of these beautiful birds. You can make a charitable gift, membership, adopt-a-bird, or volunteer your time. Look to their website for more information.
