outdoor-adventures, hikes

A great spot to explore with your family out in Sag Harbor.

Accessible directly off Noyak Road, Elizabeth A Morton National Wildlife Refuge is a
haven for bird watchers, hikers, and an abundance of wildlife. In one quick hike around
the 1.4-mile loop, I spotted deer, chipmunks, swans, squirrels, rabbits, osprey, and some
incredibly interesting-looking trees. Make sure to bring birdseed; they will eat right out
of your hands (black seeds seem to be the favorite)!

The Refuge is open ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset. There is a $4 donation
upon entering the Refuge. There are bathrooms equipped with changing tables directly
on the property. The parking lot is not too large fitting just about 15 cars, however, it
does get busy on the weekends and school holidays. The refuge does not allow dogs,
although we do love our furry relatives, they scare away the wildlife.

** As a risk of being in nature, there is a possibility ticks may try to come home
with you. Take appropriate precautions and check yourself after your visit.
