Evergreen West Park is a great little neighborhood park and playground for families.

Evergreen West is a lovely neighborhood park and playground, located within reach of all the shops and restaurants in downtown Woodbury. The playground equipment itself was really fun and unusual in that it has an 'up north' theme, and features such items as hollowed out faux logs for the kids to crawl inside of, as well as faux logs to climb onto. It was so fun to see not only a fun theme, but just a totally different look to a playground than all the rest. This is probably the first playground we've found that has this woodland theme, and with such brand new, themed equipment at that. I also appreciated the inclusion of several swings. It may sound crazy, but there are actually a fair number of kids playgrounds that have lots of different equipment, but no swings for kids to swing on. My kids love to swing, so it definitely is important to us when we visit playgrounds. The girls also were over the moon about the double slide, as they like to race each other down, or sometimes hold hands as they descend.

Oddly enough, there is a really nice, new-looking warming house sitting astride the playground. When I inquired about this, I was told that the park portion where the playground now sits used to be an outdoor ice skating rink, so that's why there's a gorgeous warming house on the property. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, during a Minnesota winter, a nice warming house with restrooms, and even just a warm indoor space in which to heat up for a few minutes is a gamechanger.

We had a great time exploring Evergreen West Park. After you play around here, we recommend heading over to Keys Cafe for some delicious food.
