Bring the History Buff in your Family to Fort Lee Historic Park in the Palisades, and Enjoy Beautiful Views of Manhattan!

Fort Lee Historic Park is a small, local gem that is great for history and nature loves. It is located in Palisades Park and has a reconstructed Revolutionary War encampment, along with a small visitor center and museum.

The reconstructed area includes huts and cannons that show a soldier's encampment during the Revolutionary war. It's a great place to bring the kids when they are learning about the war in school! The museum sits in the George Moore House that was built in 1922. It has artifacts and stories from the war, as well as information on Fort Lee's historical past. Did you know that there were over 2,600 troops stationed in this area under General George Washington?

There is a great Revolutionary War re-enactment that takes place here each year and is fun for the whole family to come out and watch. It is amazing how a site such as Fort Lee has such a big part in our American History!

In addition to the historical site, Fort Lee also has one of the best views of the George Washington Bridge and downtown Manhattan. The overlook site is located directly south of the bridge and is an amazing photo spot! There are also trails and bike paths all along Palisades Park, and it is fantastic just for a day outside. Head over in the spring or fall for some exceptionally stunning views!
