The Free LIbrary of Springfield Township is a great place to spend time with curious kiddos! In addition to a great selection of books, there are puzzles, trains, magnets, blocks, chalk, coloring, and other fun activities to keep you busy. During good weather, the courtyard, attached to the children’s section, is often open, with sidewalk chalk available for kids to play.

The children’s area is kept clean and organized, with a bulletin board with a seasonal message and artwork contributed by its visitors. Librarians are always willing to help you find what you need, and there are lists of books by topics available to help narrow your search. There are a couple computers available with kids’ activities, but they are rarely occupied as there are many other interesting things for young learners to do. There is a family restroom within this section, making potty breaks more accessible for adults and children.

Story Time takes place in the children’s section - gather with a crowd on the carpet and cute, kid friendly furniture to participate in books, songs, and rhymes. Other children's events take place in the community room - make a car for a drive in movie, try some yoga, or any number of the free events offered!

Snack time must take place in a small cafeteria, a bit of a walk around the corner and down a hall. The cafe has a vending machine and paid coffee. Although the library is stroller accessible, try to travel light, as there is not a great place to leave belongings.
