Milton Reimers Ranch Park is a Hill Country destination you don't want to miss!

Located in Dripping Springs – roughly 30 minutes northwest of Austin, you’ll find Milton Reimers Ranch Park (a.k.a. Reimers Ranch). This lovely, forested park sits along the Pedernales River – perfect for swimming and shoreline referred to as the “beach.”  The river, at its furthest hike from the parking lot, is just half a mile, so not far at all. For all the bikers out there, the park has many mountain bike trails – including a new “flow trail.” For those of us who are non-bikers, these trails are described as “terrain-induced roller coaster experience[s], with little pedaling and braking necessary,” by www.singletracks.com. If that sounds a bit too extreme for your tastes, the park also offers some relaxed beginner trails as well. (FYI: The park often closes bike trails after rainfall). Horse riders will appreciate this park, which is equestrian-friendly, and the many rock walls attract climbers as well. Like any Texas park, wildlife abounds and the depth and speed of the river will depend on the rainfall.

Visitors are invited to use the drinking fountains and picnic tables found on park ground, and bring the pup with you as long as they are leashed. The park is currently charging day-use fees – $5 for adults, $3 for everyone 62 and older, and free for children 12 and under. It's best to check the county website for the most up-to-date information.
