Immerse yourself in culture and be stunned by the many breathtaking works of art at Mint Museum Uptown.

Located in uptown Charlotte, the Mint Museum was established in 1936 as North Carolina's first art museum. The museum has two locations, this one being at the Levine Center for the Arts and the other on Randolph Road. The museum has one of the largest art collections in the Southeast and has been inspiring the community for decades. The Mint Museum Uptown houses the Craft + Design collection, which is internationally renowned, and American, contemporary, and European art. The facility contains four stories of masterpieces and stunning visual displays. In addition, they have permanent exhibitions along with rotating displays to keep you coming back.

Every Wednesday night, you can enjoy both the Uptown and Randolph Mint Museums, the Harvey B. Gantry Center for African-American Arts and Culture, and the Knight Theater for free from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm. So make reservations online to sign up for a time and enjoy the beautiful art. Before or after, check out some of the local eats around or be adventurous and go to several museums in one night. Either way, this is a great way to have a family night out or a nice date night.

The Mint Museum Uptown has the Lewis Family Gallery, where kids of all ages can explore, learn, and play in this interactive environment. Create space to make art, construct, do puzzles, and step into a Romare Bearden collage here.

The museum offers several programs, camps, online classes, classes specific to teens, college students, adults and educators, and a Latino initiative.

Mint Museum Uptown is a wonderful museum of art. This is one place you will want to return to time and time. Check out the website for all of the events, programs, and happenings around the museum and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram @themintmuseum.
