Pineville Lake Park has a playground, a splash pad, an amphitheater, and trails; it's a beautiful place to enjoy the day outside.

Located in Pineville, just south of Charlotte, Pineville Lake Park has a plethora of playgrounds and activities for kids and families. The park has five playground areas, a splash pad, walking path, story walk, amphitheater, picnic pavilions, dog park, and public restrooms. Each of the playgrounds is unique. The playgrounds have something for every age from toddlers to about ten years old to enjoy. There are rock climbing walls, slides, interactive play stations, swing sets, and dinosaur bones to climb. Each of the playgrounds are filled in with mulch. There are some trees around but even so, the playground areas lack shade in some areas. It's perfect for the winter but summer it can get quite warm. There are a few swinging benches around a couple of the playgrounds. One covered picnic area near the playgrounds is fenced in with a rock climbing dome and spinning toys.

The splash pad is on the opposite side of the playgrounds. The area is fully fenced-in and has restrooms nearby. There is no shade covering so bring sunscreen. This operates Memorial Day through Labor Day.

There is a nice paved walking path around the lake. There is also a great story walk that goes halfway around the lake. This starts near the parking lot and ends around the dog park entrance. Young kids love these as they have to walk to the next page of the story. It gives you conversation prompts too. The lake is filled with geese. They are fun to watch but don't feed the them.

There is also a dog park at the opposite end of the lake from the playgrounds and next to Belle Johnston Community Center as well. The park hosts concerts, festivals, and events throughout the year using the grounds and the amphitheater.

Pineville Lake Park and Playground is a great space to spend the day outside. Check it out the next time you are in the area. Before or after head into downtown Pineville for some local eats.
