Ria Del Bene Memorial Playground is located right behind Westhampton Beach Main Street shops offering an excellent opportunity to burn extra energy before or after lunch or shopping in town.

This is a fantastic park for kids between the ages of two and five. This prime Westhampton Beach location is conveniently located next to the Village Parking lot. Ria Del Bene is open sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year, and is free of charge. Ria Del Bene was an active and devoted contributor to the the WHB community for many years, and a founding member of the WHB Historical Society.

Although small, this playground packs a lot of punch. The playground provides a fun play structure with slides, climbing sections, sit on animal structures, and a climbable fire truck. Ria Del Bene has two of the baby swings, perfect for the younger kids. The playground surface has wood chips, great to lessen those scrapes and bruises. The structure itself is fenced in, with a child-lock safety gate, making it easier for parents with multiple kids under the age of five. There is a little free library in the corner near the entrance, where you can borrow or swap books (during the winter months, it is wrapped in plastic). You will also find some benches in the shade for a picnic, just to take a break from the sun or read one of the books at the little library.

I do not find this park generally crowded at any point in the year; however, there is more traffic in town between May and August so parking may be more difficult. On the other hand, it is a short walk to town for restaurants, ice cream, toy stores, shopping, and even the local library.

**The public bathrooms are located about a block over from Ria Del Bena.
