This hidden gem wowed us with its beautiful scenery and tons of fun options for the family.

This park & playground is really something quite special. Though we've explored in the area nearby many times, I would never have known this park was here without first looking it up. I actually really like that fact, and I assume that it means this is likely a less crowded park in the summer months, despite being a really excellent place to play. Plenty of the community playgrounds that we frequent are visible from main roads, but this beautiful gem is tucked away, which really makes it extra special in my opinion.

I noticed right away that, even in the winter, this place is surrounded by beautiful scenery. That's a bonus because let's face it, busy moms enjoy a family play day in soothing and visually pleasing surroundings. This is definitely not an inner-city park. If you're looking for a really large, quality park in an upscale suburban area where you can kick back and relax while the kiddos play for hours, this park will suit you for sure.

The park also sits on the small lake in its name, Rice Marsh Lake, and features an awesome 3.4-mile biking and walking trail loop for the warmer months or when the sun is shining brightly. This is a huge bonus for moms like me, who love to walk and have kiddos who love to walk or bike. It's also a great place to scooter when the conditions are right - the loops are great! This park also features a sheltered picnic area, a ball field, and a basketball court. We will definitely be returning here in the spring for biking around the lake and enjoying beautiful tea parties after playtime.

After exploring this gorgeous park and playground, head over to Yo Yo Donuts in Minnetonka for a sweet treat!
