An off the beach attraction that gives you an up close experience with marine life.

Located in the heart of Mrytle Beach, at Broadway at the Beach boardwalk, Ripley's Aquarium is full of fun with marine life, interactive exhibits, dive shows, glass bottom boat tours, a penguin parade walk, and more. This two level aquarium has multiple exhibits including the Penguin Playhouse, Jellyfish in Planet Jellies, Rio Amazon Animals, Ray Bay, Dangerous Reef with shark species, Rainbow Rock, Living Gallery, and Systems Control.

The Penguin Playhouse is a favorite of ours as these active animals are always moving and swimming. There is a tunnel to crawl through and a dome to pop up to get up close and personal. They also offer Penguin encounters for an extra charge. At Dangerous Reef, you get to stand on a moving walkway through a tunnel while watching the sharks swim up above. This gives you an up close experience with the sharks, resident sea turtle, and the many beautiul fish.

Another favorite exhibit of ours was the stingrays. You can hand feed (paid activity) and pet them at the top of the exhibit and then you can walk to the bottom, via the ramp, to see them underwater. They also do scuba dive feeds at certain times throughout the day, so check out their dive time schedule when you visit. There is so much to see here and experience. The average family spends around 2 - 3 hours exploring the aquarium.

In the Aquarium, they have other attractions like the Glass Bottom Boat tours where you ride above the different exhbitis like the Dangerous Reef, Stingray Experience, Sleepovers for kids, and the Penguin Encounters. They also do birthday parties if you are looking for a fun way to celebrate.

Ripley's Aquarium is a great way to spend your day off the beach. It's a nice cool indoor activity during the summer to take a break from the sun. Follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @ripley'smyrtlebeach for all the lastest updates and happenings.
