Playgrounds, hiking, fishing ponds, mountain bike tracks, natural play space, and more - this park has it all!

Located just outside of Charlotte in Midland, Rob Wallace is the largest park in Cabarrus County and a really fun place to play. There is both a large playground and a natural play space. The playground has several slides, a play tractor, swings, and climbing. One of the three ponds is located near this playground. There is a food machine to feed the ducks and fish.

The nature play space is across the parking area and street from the other playground. This area is a fun space with water paints, a mud kitchen, a sandbox, slackline climbing, musical toys, fairy houses, and more. Near this area is a fire pit to enjoy. You have to bring your own wood for this.

There is a large restroom as well as a covered picnic area. Beyond the playgrounds towards the back of the park are the hiking trails and mountain bike paths. They even have a couple of pump tracks and a smaller one for beginner bikers. There is also a 9-hole disc golf course and two more ponds located at the back of the park.

The park rangers offer several homeschool and preschool nature-themed programs. For a small fee, you can sign up for once-a-week classes geared towards your child's age. During the summer they offer summer camps. The rangers are always open to suggestions and ideas for improving the programs. Visit their website to learn more about all the programs they have to offer.

There are several more phases in the construction of this park. There are plans for nature classrooms, more play areas, piers, trails, and an aerial adventure park. We look forward to monitoring how this space continues to change and improve.
