Tuolumne Meadows Campground
Tuolumne Meadows Campground, Tioga Road, Yosemite National Park
Great for Walk-Up Camping in Yosemite.
Shady Campground With All the Necessities
This campground is in the heart of Tuolumne Meadows. Sites are slightly more spacious than campgrounds in the valley, but they still aren’t like camping out in the wilderness alone. Good news for those that don’t plan ahead…like us…they keep 50% of the sites for walk-up. You have to get there early though because people will be waiting in line to snatch them up!
If you can get a spot on A Loop, it's our favorite because it stretches out along the river. There is drinking water that is easily accessible throughout this campsite and every spot has a fire ring and a picnic table.
The Elizabeth Lake Trail conveniently leaves from this campground and Tenaya Lake Viewpoint is a short drive away. If you want to stay at a different campsite, try Upper Pines Campground. If you're really looking for an adventure, consider backpacking in Yosemite. It's a great way to escape the crowds.
