Westover Park & Playground is great for sports, playing, or a family picnic.

Located directly off the Custis Trail in Arlington, Westover Park & Playground is small but mighty. You can find a picnic shelter and tables, a playground, two baseball/softball fields, lighted basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a drop-in rectangular fields (soccer, lacrosse, etc.)

The playground is on the smaller side but there’s something for everyone and will accommodate all ages. Completely fenced, you will find swings (for big kids and babies), climbing structures, merry-go-round, and more.

Bring a soccer ball or basketball and have the older kids play sports while the younger kids play on the playground. It’s a win-win for everyone. Or bring bikes and scooters and ride around the paved perimeter of the park.

You can also find a bathroom (closed November 15-March 15 for winter, per Arlington Country) and drinking fountains.

Located off the Custis Trail at the I-66 underpass, runners, bikers, and walkers alike will love this playground.

When you're done playing, stop by The Italian Store or Lebanese Taverna in the Westover neighborhood of Arlington.

Closest metro is Ballston or East Falls Church.

Melody Parry Jones
Melody moved around most of her life (military family) and graduated from the University of Central Florida where she was a college athlete. Even though the beach will always feel like home, she now lives in Arlington, VA with her husband, Brent, and the #fourlittlejonesies. After stints as a flight attendant, government consultant, and sales representative for a major running brand, Melody spends her days exploring and adventuring with the kids. Whether it’s a hike, playground, bike ride/run to a playground, or nature walk, Melody and the kids are always out of the house by 9:30am (otherwise, it’s chaos). Melody is a Washington D.C. ambassador, and loves the opportunity to explore even more in the city she calls home.
