A local institution, Slo Jack's delivers a unique vibe and maybe even an unexpected trip down memory lane.

Slo Jack’s has been in Hampton Bays since 1978.  It is owned and run by a Hampton Bays local who works at the restaurant every single day.  He is an avid surfer and is eager to offer wave condition information, just not his secret spots.

This eatery is incredibly unique and very local.  How can I best describe Slo Jack’s?  It is a drive-in-style restaurant that has an 18-hole mini-golf course and a surf shop that sells new and used boards…. a lot going on there.

Slo Jack’s posts their menu on a surfboard and covers a variety of food from jalapeno poppers, chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, hamburgers, burritos, Philly cheesesteaks, and so much more.  All that being said, Slo Jack’s is the perfect stop to grab a quick bite to eat after a long beach day.

I recommend the homemade chili, the salty crinkle-cut fries, a burger, and most importantly a tasty milkshake! You can get everything from a single hot dog priced at $3.99 to a Shrimp or Scallop Platter with extra-large fries and coleslaw for $14.99. Additionally, there are fried chicken, chicken nugget, scallop, shrimp or clam family-style bucket options for two, four or eight people that come with fries, coleslaw and cornbread and are priced at $29.99, $41.99 and $55.99 respectively.

The ice cream is also reasonably priced and there are some really fun, old-school options like a Root Beer Float and a Banana Boat. In addition to regular ice cream options, they have both chocolate and vanilla soft serve and even a delicious mango sorbet.
